Local Tips & Tactics

01

Chasing Kob on Paddle Tails

Fish structure — rocky banks, gullies and river mouths. Use 8–12ft rods, 40–60 size reels and slow, bottom-hugging retrieves. McArthy Kob Slinkys and Keitech Swing Impact Fat are local favourites.

02

Sardine Run Ready

May–July is the greatest shoal on Earth. Stock up on spinners, jigs, live bait rigs and heavy braid before the action starts. We update gear daily during the run.

03

Slow-Pitch Jigging

A rising technique on the South Coast. Compact reels, light braid and short, rhythmic rod lifts produce ambers, tuna and reef species. Ask Craig for the right jig weight for the day.

04

Tackle Care

Rinse reels and rods after every trip, wipe down lures and store rods in cases. A little maintenance after salty sessions adds years to your gear.

Not sure what to throw? Walk in with your target species and we’ll point you to the right lure, bait or rig.
